The History of the Aria Guitar

The president and founder of Aria, Shiro Arai, changed the culture of Japan and the world of guitar-playing forever when he discovered his friend playing a guitar one day. He immediately bought one of his own and taught himself how to play, progressing so quickly that soon he ended up teaching guitar. Unable to find guitar parts and guitars themselves in common Japanese music stores, he decided to officially bring classical guitars to post-war Japan, and started Aria.

Aria means expressive melody, and that is certainly what Aria guitars are known for. Shiro started a company that manufactured guitars, and disproved the poor reputation of Japan when it came to guitar-making. He began marketing his good quality guitars in the United States and eventually became very successful. Today, the quality of Aria guitars continues to get better, and they are exported to many countries worldwide. They are now known as some of the best guitar builders in history, specializing in the manufacturing of both the classical and electric guitar.

Aria guitars have gone from being Japanese versions of popular American guitars (such as the Fender guitar) to creating their own models which have become popular in their own right. Many models have been released since Aria's founding, and to this day, they continue to create new lines of guitars that are well-loved by the public. The guitars are still made in Japan, but in the present, Aria products are also made in Korea. Their quality has not diminished --  not one bit.
